1-day Bali, 5-day Jambi.

Headed to Bali to meet him and spent just a day there. It's the second time I'm there in less than a year. Really couldn't believe that I would be back so soon. I flew Jetstar to get the earliest flight for the day and the air ticket was pricy since it was such an impromptu trip but it was sure worth the while.

This time, he opted for a hotel which was just in Kuta, the city of Bali, and it linked us directly to the beach. Wanted to have a dip in the sea but sadly we didn't have the time for it and the water is really not that clean and comfortable to swim in. We just headed out to have lunch at a Thai fastfood restaurant. Didn't get to eat local food at all. I haven't got the chance to try Babi Guling, Balinese spiced roast pork rice with some special chilli, even though it's already the second time there. The next time I will ensure that we'll have enough time for that!

After some rest we went out to buy dinner to eat back in the hotel and guess what we saw! This was pure coincidence! We didn't plan this at all. Just exited the shopping mall in time for this beautiful sight.

Sunset was AWESOME.

We headed back to Jakarta the next morning to catch the domestic flight back to Jambi. I spent 5 days there and as usual I accompanied him around his hometown for work and pick up as many Indonesian and Teochew phrases/slangs as possible. Met his uncle and family and grandma who are always very hospitable. They will always treat us to a good meal there. So nice of them.
We went to Restoran International which I call "The Vintage Restaurant".
This can be a concept restaurant in Singapore which can bring back memories from the 1960s.
We hardly see such eating places here now.

Besides accompanying him to and fro from work, our daily activities include these.
Taking care of the silly lil' pups, I mean just playing with them.
Suckling on milk. All five of them.
Mummy dog refuses to let the pups drink milk most of the time. Bad doggie.
Brown pup trying to mimick it's mummy.
They were all eyeing my "shoe lace". So determined to loosen it. Look at its face.
Victor in Batik!
Totally adore him not only because he is cute but because he was my slimming buddy after consecutive days of good food. Can you believe it? He actually played badminton with me when he is only almost 3.

I'm so proud of myself this trip as I came back to Singapore via Batam all by myself because he was really busy with work. Lug my luggage and 6kg of duku with me. It was the duku season and my mama loves it and furthermore his mummy said this year's harvest was surprising sweeter than before so I  had to bring some back for my family. Took plane, taxi and ferry and had that sense of achievement once I reached Singapore waters!

Home Sweet Home.
