Ye Ji and I were discussing about cute animals during tuition today. Yes. It was a discussion. Not wasting time, of course! How can it be a waste of time when I always make sure that every chit-chatting session is a beneficial "Conversation Practice".
Anyway, we started talking about rodents. She told me mice are cute and I tried to teach her about dirty ones. You know, rats, to add on to her, perhaps, 82-word vocabulary bank (approximated value) by now.
Me: Yes. Mice are cute but what about those dirty ones which lives in the rubbish bins.
Ye Ji (with eyes wide open trying hard to convince me): They are so cute too!
Me: We can't play with them because they are so dirty...and smelly!
Ye Ji: Nooooooooo! We can! We just have to wash it and we can touch it ALREADY!
I gave up on describing a rat to her! Gave up! She is just too innocent to know how disgusting rats are. None of the kids that I have taught so far is that innocent and ignorant. I really don't know if she will see a rat one day and attempt to do as she had told me. As her teacher, I'll better warn her about the rats again, before she encounters one herself. Can't imagine how she would handle the situation if I don't.
The Second Korean Lesson
In Korean class today, Teacher B talked about squirrels ( da-ram-jwi ). She said squirrels in Singapore don't look as cute as the ones back in her hometown. She commented that the ones here look just like mice, jwi, but I strongly disagree and shook my head until it almost dropped. I've seen them at parks and they are just as cute as the chipmunks and chipettes. But, it could be that she was missing home. Next time, I'll be more sensitive. Today's lesson was great and I was more attentive and enthusisatic. It feels really good being a student once again. I knew I would be a better student this time! :)
Good night, world.

Long Weekends are for.......
KOREANS!
Us!
We can't win them in terms of cuteness. How can we stop loving them!
One slice of cake for their belated birthdays.
MAKEOVER PARTY!
Onion in da House!
Dance Diva (minus the home clothes)
As I mature, I start doing nonsensical stuff. No wonder my mum is so full of nonsense. Just that we do different types of nonsense. She doesn't do make-up. Natural, she says, is the BEST. Like we care!

6-year-old Ye Ji
My youngest student who blabbers non-stop. She says I can't joke because joking makes my nose long just like Pinocchio. Too adorable!

Go, go, go!
I got reminded by my own reminder to someone to stay healthy last Sunday. Instead of "advising" others, I've decided to quit being a nag and do it myself. Personally, my schedule does not allow me to eat my meals at proper times but I do have time to spend some time exercising at least 4 times a week. Feels good sweating so much. Haven't felt this way for some time!
Instead of lazing around during the idle hours, I've started to put it to good use! Did imaginary skipping, jog on the spot and some pilates exercises. It clears my clogged pores, vessels, intestines and mind too. I feel like I'm 15 again! It's a little exaggerated but it's a feeling I had when I was still schooling and in sports CCAs back then. Yes, that was 10 years ago! Miss it so much!
Got a call from my aunt's insurance agent. Made an appointment, finally. I guess my aunt decided to push me a bit to get it done soon. I really need to get started on all this adult stuff and stop procrastinating. I need to take charge of my life, there is definitely more I can do to it!
And I realized I like driving around alone. Listening to music, self-reflecting and talking to myself. I wonder whether my dear friend, Miss Ang, does that too.
Life is good if you think it is!

It's so jealous
Went over to have dinner with BF's family. As usual, more fun without him around. Oopps!
His sister's old ham fractured its limp. It's hobbling around the cage now. Awwwwww.. Poor thing! Yes. BUT she deserves it. This little thing bit its owner out of jealousy when a newcomer was introduced. OK, never mind if you don't get it! It's such an insecure ham. Even the vet said so. tsk tsk tsk.
His little sis is so sweet. Planned a secret mission for me for the long weekend at the end of this month. Unfortunately, I can't execute the plan. She is disappointed. Maybe next time, meimei! Really appreciate it.
At the meantime, enjoy work everybody! Need a jog tonight. Hopefully it doesn't rain.

Mummy and Baby
I had dinner real early yesterday. It was a rare opportunity as one of the afternoon students fell ill. It was so satisfying, it made me energetic till 2000 when my lesson ended. Had handmade noodles at BPP alone. Solo dining was great. It's always good time for people watching.
I was observing this mummy with a baby sleeping in her baby carrier. She was done grocery shopping and had come to la kopi at the food court and was sitting right in front of me. I started observing her. Her little gestures caught my attention. While sipping her cup of coffee and eating dimsum, she occasionally sniffed at her baby and checked that she did not wake her up She looked like she was enjoying herself even though the baby in the carrier was restricting her movements. When she was done, she carried her shopping bags and ambled off with her baby still sleeping soundly. It was a pleasant sight. It makes me wonder what motherhood would be like for me.
It's way too early for me to think about this now. Back to work now!

You believed it?
What about bloooeey hair!
If you thought I really dyed my hair, you thought too little of me! tsk tsk.
Have been sick for the past four days. Having some good time exploring the artistic side of me. I'm quite talented actually. Like real! I need to get well and start work tomorrow!
To the-nasty-flu-bug in me: Scram off! Get out of me!
Positivity is the way to go!
