Jakarta and Bali 2011

I shall blog about my wonderful trip to Jakarta and Bali about three weeks ago before I get busy and forget all about it.

Anton's sister accompanied me to Jakarta. Her impulsiveness rocks the world!

No nice photos taken in Jakarta as I was just happy to be able to spend time with Anton. We stayed at Jakarta for only a day. Got Anton his birthday present from Mangga Dua Square and ate some nice food there and off we flew to Bali.

Denpasar Airport, Bali.

First shot taken once we arrived at the villa at noon. We were served thirst-quenching lime juice. A cold towel was also given to cool us down on the bright sunny day. Good service. We love it!

We ate lunch at our hotel's cafe as we had to wait to check in to our villa.
Finally got into our cozy villa. We have a private pool but we only had the chance to have a dip on the very first day due wet weather on the consecutive days.
Sun deck chairs for basking in the sun and the daily sumptuous breakfast served in our villa. Heavenly.
We visited some beaches. This one is the surfers' favourite. Dreamland Beach, but nothing dreamy about it. We didn't bring our swim clothes so we just had an F.O.C. self-entertainment session, like we always do.

One of the Painters' Gallery in Bali.
Painting of Balinese women with prayer offerings. The offerings, inclusive of a lighted incense, is a common sight in Bali. They can even be seen in shopping malls.
The Barong, an auspicious character of Bali (left). It resembles the Chinese's Lion Head. On the right is a colourful painting of flowers in a place that looks like a paradise. So relaxing just looking at it. It is so beautiful but of course costly. And that is the reason why I'm back here to work again. I want to have that in my own house in the future!
"Master Shi fu" of the Painters' Gallery. The most valuable picture, according to Mr Hartanto, taken at the gallery.
Batik Painting and Weaving of Fabric. It was quite an eye-opener to us. It brings back memory of me having a chance to do batik painting when I was in my secondary school.

At Monkey Forest Sanctuary. The monkeys are no different from the ones in Bukit Timah Hill. Not too enjoyable and we started being silly. I forced Mr A.H. into this, he can't be that silly, right?
Rice terraces.
Mountain top dining at Ubud.
I didn't enjoy as it was chilly on top of the mountain and I was sick and so was moody. Poor Anton was trying his best to smile.

We headed back to our villa before my cold got worse and that was the end of second day. We ended up eating cup-noodles which his sister prepared for us for dinner that day.

I'll be continuing with the remaining days soon.

Selfish me

My man has been undergoing lots of stress and I haven't been understanding. Life sucks to have a girlfriend like me, seriously. I'm not self-bashing.

Hope to see him soon. Counting down to the days of the Bali trip. 17 days to go, before I see him again! Looking forward to it!

I MISS MY MAN SO MUCH!!

Count yourself lucky if you have your girlfriends/boyfriends with you now. Appreciate them!

Love them to Bits

This is a post to remind me how lucky I am.

For me, she has done a lot which I chose to take for granted. I must now learn to appreciate. To express my love for her and to learn to be understanding just like her.

She doesn't nag and complain. Her tolerance level is extraordinary high. I guess her outlet is through eating. Now that explains why she can't succeed in her dieting efforts. She has never admitted that that might be the reason. But I'll assume that it is and she is selfless. She chose to sacrificed her figure for our well-being and happiness. She chose to inflict the pain on herself. Oh, my mother is our angel!

It's Mother's Day. How sweet!

Another VIP in my life is my 大姐 dearest a.k.a Rock nowadays.

She is always there to lend a listening ear, to knock sense into my thick skull.

She does silly things at time but she will always be the best sister that anyone can possibly have! Don't be jealous!

Rock entering the lift with her almighty umbrella.
Her efforts to 美白 is one of the things I really admire.

THANK YOU SO MUCH 大姐!

Looking forward to......

so many things in life. Both the positive and the negative. I just want to know how I'll juggle them in life. Surprise myself!

There are positives due to the existence of the negatives and negatives are there because of the positives. Nothing is perfect. All you need to do is balance them. Ya. That's ALL you need to do.

I need to do what I need to do and stop thinking thinking and thinking too much. Way too much!

I hope the upcoming trip will be good.

Rodents

Ye Ji and I were discussing about cute animals during tuition today. Yes. It was a discussion. Not wasting time, of course! How can it be a waste of time when I always make sure that every chit-chatting session is a beneficial "Conversation Practice".

Anyway, we started talking about rodents. She told me mice are cute and I tried to teach her about dirty ones. You know, rats, to add on to her, perhaps, 82-word vocabulary bank (approximated value) by now.

Me: Yes. Mice are cute but what about those dirty ones which lives in the rubbish bins.
Ye Ji (with eyes wide open trying hard to convince me): They are so cute too!
Me: We can't play with them because they are so dirty...and smelly!
Ye Ji: Nooooooooo! We can! We just have to wash it and we can touch it ALREADY!

I gave up on describing a rat to her! Gave up! She is just too innocent to know how disgusting rats are. None of the kids that I have taught so far is that innocent and ignorant. I really don't know if she will see a rat one day and attempt to do as she had told me. As her teacher, I'll better warn her about the rats again, before she encounters one herself.  Can't imagine how she would handle the situation if I don't.

The Second Korean Lesson

In Korean class today, Teacher B talked about squirrels ( da-ram-jwi ). She said squirrels in Singapore don't look as cute as the ones back in her hometown. She commented that the ones here look just like mice, jwi, but I strongly disagree and shook my head until it almost dropped. I've seen them at parks and they are just as cute as the chipmunks and chipettes. But, it could be that she was missing home. Next time, I'll be more sensitive. Today's lesson was great and I was more attentive and enthusisatic. It feels really good being a student once again. I knew I would be a better student this time! :)

Good night, world.

Long Weekends are for.......

KOREANS!
Us!
We can't win them in terms of cuteness. How can we stop loving them!
One slice of cake for their belated birthdays.

MAKEOVER PARTY!

 Onion in da House!
Dance Diva (minus the home clothes)

As I mature, I start doing nonsensical stuff. No wonder my mum is so full of nonsense. Just that we do different types of nonsense. She doesn't do make-up. Natural, she says, is the BEST. Like we care!

6-year-old Ye Ji

My youngest student who blabbers non-stop. She says I can't joke because joking makes my nose long just like Pinocchio. Too adorable!
